Program Summary:
This presentation will support a formal privileging program that creates an objective process, assuring fairness with consistently applied criteria, which will reduce risk to patients, providers and facilities. The development of a formal process ensures regulatory compliance while facilitating the implementation of new technology, necessary revisions, and ongoing review of current privilege forms. This process confirms that scopes of services are adequately represented and related privileges are granted based on established education, training, and current competency criteria that is approved by the Medical Staff and the Governing Body.
Objectives:
- Learn and align accreditation standards to apply development of privileges.
- Create a standardized DoP review process for the implementation of new technology, necessary revisions, and ongoing review of current privilege forms.
- Obtain Medical Staff Leadership support by developing a form Privileging Review Program
